I had planned a follow up novel to my award winning, The Surgeon, and had written half that novel. After learning of the death of a Veteran I served with, my mind began creating story lines about a novel concerning the Vietnam War. I suddenly felt it imperative to write such a novel, out of sequence of my American Journeys series to ensure future generations understood what we Vietnam Veterans experienced. I will complete the Civil War follow up novel later this spring.
